Two Huge Stressors to Your Nervous System

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

After years of hearing seemingly everyone in the health world regurgitate the same message that "stressors coming in from our food, lifestyle, EMFs, and pollutants of all varieties are stressing out our bodies and creating disease", I began to wonder why no one was talking about two of the largest stressors to our entire nervous system. It turns out that over 50% of our nervous system's energy and metabolic workload every single day is spent on combating just two stressors!

These are:

  1. Having to constantly battle the forces of gravity

  2. And having to process over 10 million bits of external sensory overstimulation every second

To re-emphasize, these two stressors alone utilize over 50% of our nervous system's energy every single day and zap our mineral levels!

Gravity:

Many people don't fully understand how incredibly hard your muscular-skeletal system and spinal cord are working right now, at this moment even, to stop your head from simply drooping to the side and your body from collapsing to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

Constantly having to combat the forces of gravity is an immense stressor to our nervous system. This stress triggers fight or flight which burns copious amounts of magnesium. It wasn't until I experienced a true zero gravity environment, like what is found in a float tank (found at your local float center), that I was able to fully realize the immense amounts of gravitational stress that was constantly on my system.

Lying in a float tank is totally unlike laying on a mattress at the end of the night, where there are thousands of springs and pain points that are cutting off your microcirculation. When we enter a true zero gravity environment our blood vasculature gets to totally relax and our capillaries get to totally vasodilate resulting in a huge increase in blood flow, oxygen flow, and microcirculation to every part of the body, which is incredibly healing for thousands of ailments!

Sensory Overstimulation:

The other main stressor that doesn't get nearly enough attention is the fact that our brains and our nervous systems are constantly inundated with sensory overstimulation. Every single second of the day your brain is having to process over 10 million bits of sensory overstimulation that you were being bombarded with from all of your senses. Our conscious mind, on the other hand, is only capable of processing a mere 40 to 50 bits of information per second. Clinically, this stress caused by overstimulation is being coined 'sensory anxiety' and impacts over 100 million people in the United States alone!

If we aren't prioritizing time away from our screens, out in nature and alone in the silent darkness, our bodies are always going to be fighting an uphill battle for health. When we give our brain, body, and nervous system the opportunity to unplug from all of this post-modernized sensory overstimulation, it turns out that our body has a natural and innate ability to heal itself. Imagine how much of your consciousness is constantly on the external world processing these stressors and reacting to them. When we take our power and energy back, our minerals can stabilize, and our bodies are accelerated into our natural state of health!

What you can do about it:

You may be wondering how you can escape the stresses of gravity and overstimulation, but fortunately, there is an easy and affordable solution.

A powerful yet simple form of therapy called flotation therapy or sensory deprivation has totally taken the west coast and Europe by storm these past 20 years and involves laying in an extremely dense, zero gravity, salt water solution that is housed in a sensory-deprived tank.

Many wellness centers and healing centers are offering Floating. Nowadays, you can find a float tank in just about every major city in the United States. For roughly $60/hour, you can give your nervous system a rest from two of its largest stressors, while connecting with your inner being, soaking up magnesium transdermally through the skin, and fast-tracking your health.

Even if you don't hit a local float center, awareness of our stressors and energy is the key. Start prioritizing time alone, in nature, or in the silent darkness, where our brains can take a rest from processing all of that overstimulation. Also, prioritize more time in the water, on waterbeds, or in a float tank where your body can take a rest from combatting gravity!

Happy floating! If any questions come up regarding floating, minerals, or anything health-related, please don't hesitate to ask.
