How to Make Mag-A-Hol

Updated: Nov 17

When I stumbled upon magnesium alcohol, I was intrigued, to say the least! It is important to note that this stuff will not get you drunk, in fact, we definitely do not recommend drinking this. Alternatively, magnesium mixed with alcohol to use topically is a powerful combination.

This recipe is next level and a great way to get in your daily dose of Mg!

I personally prefer this recipe over magnesium oil, not only because it gets absorbed far more rapidly & effectively but also because I don't have to worry about any stickiness or residue that magnesium oil can sometimes leave on the skin's surface. Whether I am on the go, aiming to tackle an achy injury, or just looking to sleep deeper at night, this recipe is one of my favorite ways to use Vitality Salts!

In addition, the alcohol helps get the magnesium and other minerals (like Boron) found in Vitality Salts deeper into the bones, where over 70% of our magnesium is stored in the body!

If you follow the recipe provided, please note that recipes using EverClear evaporate extra fast, which is why we recommend adding glycerin if using EverClear. The little bit of glycerin (naturally present in Vodka) is helpful because it helps slow the liquid's evaporation ever so slightly, allowing even more mag to be absorbed through the skin! Enjoy this recipe, and I look forward to hearing about your Mag-A-Hol experiences soon!

Ingredients:

•1/2 cup of Vitality Salts

•6-7 ounces of Vodka or Everclear

Directions:

  1. Pour the alcohol into a wide-mouth jar/bottle.

  2. Start adding Vitality Salts blend little by little.

  3. After adding 100grams of Vitality Salts, continue stirring. It will take some time to dissolve.

  4. Put the lid on and shake vigorously, then let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes.

  5. As magnesium chloride dissolves, add the remainder until all salt is dissolved.

  6. Add in glycerin (if using EverClear), and with the lid closed, shake vigorously.

  7. Let it rest for 2 hours.

  8. You will find that the complex has cleared, and little sedimentation is at the bottom.

  9. Carefully fill the spray bottle with Mag-A-Hol.

Dose:

You can now use it as a spray or apply it to the skin, similar to what you would do with magnesium oil.

Warning:

  • Do not heat the mixture at any point in time

  • Do not apply to eyes

  • Do not consume

Have fun with this recipe, be sure to share it with your fellow mag-a-holics, and please use it responsibly! Please consult your doctor before applying.
